A tubular battery, like any other lead-acid battery, is composed of positive and negative plates. The tubular battery is so named because the geometric structure of the positive plates is tubular. Tubular plate batteries have flat negative plates. In addition, the positive plates of the inverter battery are tubular in shape to provide additional support to the active chemical components inside the battery.
Any tubular battery has two visible components.
(1) Structure - This component is in charge of transporting the electric energy generated in the plates as well as housing the other active components.

Q. Does tubular battery require regular maintenance?
Yes, Just like any other conventional flooded lead acid battery, Lento tubular batteries also requires periodic topping up with battery grade distilled water. All batteries are equipped with a battery water level indicator on the top. The indicator shows two colour marks – green indicates that level is OK & red indicates water topping-up is required. Periodically you need to check the water level by looking at the level indicator, and when indicator reaches the red mark, you must top-up the battery with distilled water only.
Note: A tubular battery should never be topped up with normal tap water or filter water because impurities present in tap water/filter water are detrimental for battery performance and life.
